how to password protect an excel file

Open Your Excel File

Launch Excel and open the workbook you want to protect by clicking on **File** and selecting **Open**.

Access the Info Menu

Click on **File** in the top left corner, then select **Info** from the sidebar options.

Select Protect Workbook

In the Info menu, click on **Protect Workbook**. A dropdown menu will appear.

Choose Encrypt with Password

From the dropdown menu, select **Encrypt with Password**. A dialog box will prompt you to enter a password.

Set Your Password

Enter your desired password and click **OK**. You will be prompted to re-enter the password for confirmation. After confirming, click **OK** again to finalize the protection.
